Why Playing Games Saved My Life

I believe there are two types of life standards that determine all events that you encounter. I separate them active and passive life, which can leads so many consequences that you couldn’t imagen. In a period of time, I become very passive person after viewing so many random videos on YouTube and it basically ruined my life. I want to explain you how viewing so many people can ruin your life. Think that you started to learn how to play piano. Suddenly, you see so many people playing piano and you are very likely to see a person who plays better than you. After viewing that video, you are not the same person as you were. It likely to demotivate you or you feel like there is no point to play piano because everybody does it and they are better than me right now. This feeling makes you more passive after a long time exposing this videos. But at the first place, that was your time, that was your dopamine and that was your action. Having this time is way important than playing Mozart perfectly. In these days, most of the people having the same issue, they watching people who do stuff rather than doing this actions. This is a very serious issue that leads you depression for sure. For example people are not playing games right now, and watch people who play games. However, this must attitude must change. So, I was one of the people who had brain fog and watching random videos all day. I was addicted to that and still I am struggling with this addiction. I know that so many people have the same issue like me and maybe they don’t aware the cause of what makes them feel worthless. When you go online, you see nearly infinite number of information, videos and articles. And most of them are better than yours. I must admit it. However, don’t let them make you passive person. You also have right to do things if they are good or not.

So, how playing games saved my life at the first place? Most people think that playing games also ruins lives like other addictions such as alcohol, watching porn and etc. The thing is, it helps you feel isolated and you can actively playing that game. I am not considering multiplayer games right now, they are another topics. I am just mentioning basic, old school games like Age of Mythology. You can actively give your focus on that game and play it. This is really amazing technique to get out of extreme passive life. Because in there, you can limit and isolate yourself from the world. There are only you and the game in that moment and this is so special. Basically you don’t care anymore about the world for one or two hours and I can suggest that it really help you in so many ways. When you open yourself to the world and give attention to the internet, you may feel like there are billions of people in your head and everyone doing something. One person goes to Antarctica and do some stake on the ice while he is fishing, the other one jumps out of the plane with a cake and the other one is dancing with lions in Africa. This is madness! And it is not helping at all.

I think the worst thing right now is YouTube shorts… If you are viewing YouTube shorts, you likely became a Zombie after very short time. Maybe after Apple Vision Pro, most of people will become like the humans in Wall-E movies. Sitting all day and watching random videos about people who do random stuff. I think this is sad and you should protect yourself from what’s coming.

That’s is why i am supporting playing good games in moderate time. This is a little action to turn yourself from passive person to an active one. And this little action maybe leads so many great things in your life.

Protect your attention from this virtual insanity. You can be hooked so easy, because these systems are very well designed and all the algorithms that is constructed by your data is helping this addiction when more. Your response times, your reactions, your viewing time, they are all data to contract these algorithms for you. And at the end, you realize that many hours gone waste… This is a war my friend. I hope you will do well.
